About Homeseptic: A small company heart with a professional company feel

Based in the New Forest, Hampshire, we are a group of friends with extensive experience in the drainage sector. We have come together to offer quality system design and installations at a fair and transparent price. We only look to install systems that are fully compliant with the Environment Agencies General Binding Rules and all of our work is signed off by a Building Control Inspector. We do not use salesman, when you have ask us for a free quote an engineer will attend. We always try to make sure that the engineer you meet at the quote stage is the engineer who leads your job.  We have intentionally kept our business small so as to ensure the quality of our delivery, we do not use sub contractors to do our work. All of our lead staff have a vested interest in the company and genuinely care about it.

The reason we started Homeseptic is that we became frustrated with the sales-led marketplace, with companies run by ruthless millionaires and smart-talking salesman. We have genuine pride in our work and want to go home with a clear conscience and not be embarrassed at the prices being charged while also being told to cut corners on the work being undertaken. Please give us a call on 0800 3101092 or visit our contact page to arrange a free quote and also check out our excellent reviews.

All round good guy

Not much is known of the Stig. Some say he is as old as the forest itself, raised by wolves and brought up on a diet of Guinness and Cider. A top guy who’s always smiling, never to be outdone on sheer hard work.

New Forest Philosophy

As we have said Homeseptic is based in the New Forest. A great location in between the cities of Southampton, Salisbury and Bournemouth. We are a group of good friends who grew up together in the area.  Individually we all have grown tired of the way other Drainage firms are run. As a result,  we set up Homeseptic. Please have a look at our reviews, which we pride ourselves on and if you have an issue ask us to come for a no-hassle quote. At the point of the quote visit, you will meet the engineer who will carry out the work, not a flash salesman.

Our team will come with the job in mind and the aim of giving you the best value we can in order to facilitate a quality installation.  We want to actually put the customer first and turn up to do a great job that we can be proud of. Unfortunately, this is not the case in the market, with most companies pressuring their workers to sell unnecessary work on a visit. Due to this, we offer upfront quotations with any variations discussed before we start work. We are honest hard working professionals, which we hope you will agree with.  We cover all of Hampshire, West Sussex, Dorset, Somerset, and Wiltshire. Please get in touch and see what you think.

All of our quotes include Building Control sign-off, provision of all materials and tanks as well as a tidy and reinstatement of your garden. It is also important to check any potential installers’ financial position to ensure that they are in a good enough financial position to undertake the work and be around in the future if anything goes wrong. Please see the following guide:  Checking an Installers financial position. In addition, we have written an article on choosing a Septic tank or Sewage Treatment Plant Installer. Please see the following article: Choosing a Sewage Treatment of Septic Tank installer.

Give us a call we may be able to help you over the phone. Failing that for more complicated issues we can dispatch an engineer to investigate. Please also have a look at our Problems page, this has some easy-to-follow steps for identifying and rectifying issues. Problems really fall into three categories, inlet issues such as a blocked or collapsed pipe. Tank issues, are generally structural in nature, meaning they leak. And, Outlet issues, such as a blocked or failed soakaway. The severity of these issues are determined by the age of the system and how long the issue has been left unresolved. The most common issue we see is a missing T-Piece from the outlet. The issue normally occurs during an empty, the operative emptying the tank frequently knocks these off with their hose. Once the T-Piece has become detached the septic tank no longer processes the waste and the solids then just flow down the outlet. This is the most common cause of a failed soakaway that we see.

Legally you have to have your tank serviced annually and emptied to avoid any pollution. We can help you here and offer a no-fuss annual servicing plan. Generally, the dirty side of a Septic Tank has a capacity of around 800 to 1,500 gallons. This can be recovered be a normal empty truck and will cost (in the South of England) £135 to £185. Always check that when the tank has been emptied that your T-Pieces have not been dislodged, especially on the outlet. This will help prevent any irreparable damage to your discharge as the T-Pieces stop the worst of the suspended solids escaping your tank and this is what in 90% of cases leads to a discharge, soakaway or drainage field failing irrecoverably. This is because the soakaway fills with solids and then becomes blocked as the water has no where to soakaway into. Some people advocate jetting a failed soakaway, however this normally ends in a bigger problem.
